Photoactive Materials for Energy | INAM Research Groups

Researcher Ernest Pastor wins the Ramón y Cajal Programme to work at INAM. Ernest Pastor (Picassent, 1989) received his PhD from Imperial College London where he worked in the study of photocatalytic systems for energy conversion using electrochemical and optical methods under the supervision of Prof James Durrant FRS. He later moved to the Berkeley National Laboratory in California and joined the Yachandra-Yano laboratory where he used x-ray free electron lasers to study how oxygen is produced in the Photosystem II.

Dr. Gianluca Palmara will join INAM with a MSCA Fellowship. He will work in the MASF research group led by Dr. Victor Sans. The title of his project: “Enzymatic cascade biotransformations in digitally manufactured continuous-flow bioreactors” consists on integrating chemical engineering (3D printed continuous flow reactors) and biocatalysis (stable and recyclable immobilized enzymes) to develop more efficient biotransformations in flow, easy and effective immobilization of enzymes and significantly promote sustainable development of IB.
