Photoactive Materials for Energy | INAM Research Groups

This July, one of 1 st Bachillerat, visited INAM as part of the phase 2 of the the Young and science program organized and funded by the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera. This program aims to boost the scientific potential of gifted school students, bringing talented students together with researchers from some of the best institutions in the world immersed in the serenity and beauty of the Pyrenees in a first stage, which is followed by a research stay at renowned institutions around the world. This summer one of our researchers at INAM, Dr. Camilo A. Mesa, participated in the outreach activity From natural to artificial photosynthesis: the search of new fuels, a summer camp that took place in the Spanish Pyrenees.
La comunidad científica internacional reconoce cada vez más la inflamación central y sistémica como un denominador común para los trastornos neurológicos y psiquiátricos. Afecciones como el síndrome metabólico que induce resistencia a insulina, la enfermedad de Alzheimer (EA), de Parkinson o trastornos psiquiátricos como la depresión, el déficit de atención e hiperactividad (TDAH) comparten esta característica. Sin embargo, aún se desconocen los motivos por los que un proceso neuroinflamatorio conduce a síntomas psiquiátricos o neurológicos específicos.
