El Consell Social ha entregat els premis d'Investigació, Excel·lència Docent Universitària i a la Iniciativa Emprenedora Estudiantil.

En aquesta ocasió, a proposta del jurat, s'han concedit els premis d’Investigació en la modalitat d'Investigació Bàsica al catedràtic de Química Física Vicent Moliner Ibáñez i en la modalitat d'Innovació i Transferència del Coneixement al catedràtic de Ciència dels Materials i Enginyeria Metal·lúrgica Luis Cabedo Mas, dotat cadascun amb sis mil euros i diploma.

La rectora de la Universitat Jaume I, Eva Alcón, aseguró durante el Día de la Mujer y la Niña en la Ciencia que «conmemorar esta fecha es reconocer que el conocimiento, la ciencia, como construcción colectiva, avanza e impacta mejor cuando incorpora todas las miradas, todo el talento. Pero también significa recordar que la igualdad en el campo científico aún no es un punto de llegada: es un proceso de acción continua».
